Smile Warzone Loopback Tactics 250+

hey there!
this is a game i played on "field of broken dreams", ground only (better for long-term-games), quick cash.

this tactic is not the most effective one (others can bring you even further), but i find it quite nice. i'll explain how it works, for people who haven't played this way already (well i suppose many of you know some kind of a "switch-tactic" already). so here it is:



it uses 2 long paths ("northern" and "southern") and a "trap-track" in the middle that can bring dangerous enemies back to the beginning. the switch makes the cars turn back the whole way to use the other path (from north to south and reverse). like that you can let the cars go back and forth, back and forth, and so on.

at the entry-point (see image) cars from south and new cars meet, so a trafic jam arises. when it is long enough, you can avoid new cars to come in:
after switching from north to south, cars turn that way. realise the blue "turning point", where cars in the south-traffic jam change direction, whilst a new traffic jam arises in the north. NOW: just before the southern traffic jam is dissolved, and the "turning point" reaches the "entry point", switch again: now the northern traffic jam dissolves, a new one arises in the south, and new cars have no chance to enter.

this way your weapons have time to kill lots of enemies, before you allow new cars from the permanent traffic jam on the right side to come in. but as they are getting harder to kill, later cars are getting too far on (especially bosses, as everything around them is killed before. see the "escaping car" above!). now you can use the trap, to bring em back to the entry-point:



after blocking a track (1. step, southern in this case) open a gate to the loopback track (2. step, gate B in this case), so the enemy chooses the short way back and goes into it. then close it with a wall block (3. step), and... the nasty boss is trapped and has to start over from the entry point. this can be done on both sides. you can even trap groups of cars, when they are not too large (or it gets difficult closing the trap). but opening the gates from time to time separates small groups of cars from the back end of the traffic jams, so they can be trapped.

as you can see at this point i'm nowhere near losing the game. i don't know how long this could go on. well i lost this game at level 248 when i opened the wrong gate, and cars came the wrong way through the loopback track... but i'm shure that it might go on far beyond 250.

Yep, this works just fine...
But getting to high levels gets boring quickly

yeah, that's a bit true... now i improved the system a little (see below), and now for me it was a real fun-game untill the end!

here is the improved version of the above system:

this time i made the trap much longer, so a lot more cars can be trapped at once. and the best improvement is that i now have the possibillity of using many different trapdoors, and choose one just where i need it best. thats really cool, and makes "juggling" much easier and more fun. there is no fast-clicking in this game, you have enough time. juggling here gets a real tactical thing, and is absolutely fun (more than just switching all the time). i liked this tactic a lot, so here it is:


the game went until wave 280 this time, and again i lost too early because of a stupid mistake. ok, it wouldn't have gone much longer anyway though. the last two minutes were a little stressful, but before then everything went cool. i sold some of the weapons for some space to let more waves in, but then things went out of control. there was no time left to nuke the devil out of them with my 43000$... that would have brought some more points. well still it is the best score i reached in warzone.


another cool thing in this tactic is the diagonal wall-block structure. it makes cars pass the pulse emitters again and again, and the possibility deleting single blocks when cars move backwards brings them back much faster. this is very helpful to close gaps and free spaces in trafficjams. it's always cool to have very long traffic jams, it gets you time to act.

after maybe 230 waves (don't know exactly) i had all my towers maxed, so from there on i was able to spend money on nukes. that was nice! by the way: the game was in ground only/quick cash and took about 6 hours.

do you have ideas how to improve this system? let me know!

So I tried a similar strat. I got to 235 in just over 3 hours. Losing desire to go on...

Im skeptical that its possible to lose with this unless you stop paying attention. Instead of using nukes I use EMP's to control the juggling better. Also I have a positive cash flow, so theres potentially endless EMP's. Obviously at some point the enemies will do so slowly that you run out of money and you lose due to the delay in destroying / building walls, but it seems that it would take an unrealistic amount of time to reach that point.

The pulse emitters are only upgraded to level 3. The extra 1k damage wasn't worth the price as it allowed to me to get more out on the map.
