Seems like the exact same game but with multiplayer and no sound and more levels. also is this dead?...

Did you read the description of the game on the site? Sure, it looks the same, but if you at least play it you'll find it's way different.
And this might look dead because there are enough maps I think and most bugs are fixed : What would you talk about? Nearly every game's forum is near-dead, but there's always someone that'll talk sometime because he can't finish some level or tell for a millionth time that the game sucks/rocks (in Hex TD's case it's rocks, but no one tells it because it's obvious and the best is reserved to members...).

I'll let The Noid, the creator and developer of the game, post something here if he wants.

HexTD is not dead and is still under active development. The Noid has currently gone to Sweden for vacation and I don't know when he'll be back.

All the time something is improved, either it's a bug fix, recoding for better performance or a new feature(teams are comeing up in the future!)


HexTD is actually an open source clone of Vector TD, but is written in Java, so that's why it looks so similar.

I'm back

HexTD is under very active development. I don't always update the development changelog, but things are constantly improving. It's also one of the very few (the only?) game where your suggestions have a good chance of being implemented

The forum seems a little dead, because most of the talk happens on IRC.
