Default A new forum?
Well I and Ezo have been discussing about switching the forum to phpBB3.
If we going to do it it will be a major change in the forum so we're interested in what you guys think. Do you want a change or not? What do you think is the bad/good with it?
The phpBB3 version can be accessed here and you can login with you account there.

  • You look at a clever math formula or program algorithm and think it is the most beutiful poetry you have ever read.
  • You wish you could have a pet penguin running around in the house.

For an example, and some ideas:

Good:
  • It'$ free
  • Can't be slower then Vbulletin

Bad:
  • Games overview is looking terrible..
  • I just got used to the features of vbulletin
  • All signatures are gone (and when they are enabled, they look weird due vbulletin codes in them :P).

So long as the bads aren't dramatically horrific, yes over here.

I've been wanting to change my sig anyway, it reminds me of my photoshop-noob days.

Edit:
- and game overview shouldn't have too much effect on people here... *cough*search,ctrl+f*cough*

Ok, so you are not against a switch, but what are the benefits in your eyes?

Ok, CTRL + F or search function is great for users who know how to use it, but for potential new members and users (that aren't always technically advanced) the overview will leave a bad impression.

Isn't it possible to make a table for the list? Or any kind of tabulation that makes straight lines? Else, I agree with the switch.
A few questions though:
  • What would happen to the chat box?
  • Is there Experience in phpBB? I doubt so, and that would unbalance the Tower Ideas for Hex TD (see thread "Hex TD add-ons in the shop?)
  • When writing posts, are all the current features in phpBB/working the same ? Like polls, attachments, BB-codes (TAG][/TAG]), Smilies, etc.

Well, what's there to say about benefits? phpBB3'$ free!

But what about speed? According to what you said, it can't be slower then Vbulletin. If it's not faster, it the same and I'm definitely fine with how it is now.

With the overview, fredg999 pretty much said it all... if it's not possible, I think we should at least separate the games into smaller groups such as a, b, #s, etc.

Looks like the spoiler tags in the phpBB version don't work; I just looked at the Bloons TD 3 Tower/Item guide I made in the phpBB forum.

There will be a chatbox for phpBB3, I just need to install it
The Experience itself doesn't exists in phpBB3, but there should be a MOD equal to it orI can code one myself.
Almost all features are working the same. some BBCodes might be gone but can quickly be readded.

Games can be sorted in a better look I think. Need to look at it a little...

Yeh the spoiler will be gone but can very easily be readded.
