Default multiplayer server

i tried logging on to the multiplayer server today and it seems none existant, is it down? (possibly not if it's the same server as the forum) but it did get me woundering if after multiplayer fails to log in if there could be a enter alternative server so if i can load the game / have the game loaded form earlier and no sever connection i could still play multiplayer locally (on my computer or accross a home network using an IP address to set a host computer.

Thoughts??

Hmm, I've not noticed connection problems today, but that doesn't say much of course.

The gameserver is running on a different machine from this website, so it's possible that one works while the other isn't. If you download the jar files, or the source code, it is possible to run your own server. There's just no easy to use interface to do that...

What do you mean by "opened"?
You don't need to "open" those files, you use Java to run them directly...

You can start a server with:
java -classpath HexTDMP.jar hextd.server.Server

It looks like you forgot the dash before "classpath" in the command.
Code:
java -classpath HexTDMP.jar hextd.server.Server
