Hex Tower Defence Guide Welcome to the Hex Tower Defence Guide. Any suggestions? Comment! *The guide is INcomplete* (Limit of 12,000 characters available for every post. The complete guide would surpass 15,000. This post already reached 12,000) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I. TowersContents I. Towers II. Monsters (Creeps) III. Maps IV. Other V. Credits -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- There are 4 types of towers in this game: Green Red Yellow Blue Green Towers attack by shooting a green laser to its opponent Green Tower 1 - Attack 1 opponent at a time - Don't stop Green Tower 2 - Attack 2 opponents at a time - Don't stop Green Tower 3 - Attack 3 opponents at a time - Don't stop Green Towers have advantages to green creeps but have disadvantages to red creeps Red Towers attack differently by its type, and do splash damage Red Tower 1 - Attack by shooting a red beam to its opponent - Very fast Red Tower 2 - Attack by throwing little red balls to its opponent - Very fast Red Tower 3 - Attack by throwing little red balls to its opponent - Slow Red Towers have advantages to red creeps but have disadvantages to green creeps Yellow Towers attack by shooting a yellow laser to its opponent Yellow Tower 1 - Attack 1 opponent at a time - Fast Yellow Tower 2 - Attack 1 opponent at a time - Fast Yellow Tower 3 - Attack 1 opponent at a time - Fast Yellow towers have advantages to yellow creeps but have disadvantages to blue creeps Blue Towers slow by shooting beams to its opponent Blue Tower 1 - Slow opponents by shooting 4 beams at a time - Fast Blue Tower 2 - Slow opponents by shooting 4 beams at a time - Don't stop Blue Tower 3 - Bring back opponents in time by shooting 1 beam - Medium Blue towers have advantages to blue creeps but disadvantages to yellow creeps Target Mode: There are 3 types of target mode: Close - Attacks the closest monster to the tower in range Hard - Attacks the harder monster in range. For example, the boss Weak - Attacks the monster with the lowest hp in range Furthest - Attacks the monster that is closest to the end in range Additional Information Upgrading towers is generally better then building multiple towers. Each upgrade multiplies the damage by 1.45, so a fully upgraded tower is about 28 times as powerful as a level one tower. The range of a tower is extended by 7% each upgrade The effects of blue one and blue two stack Yellow towers have to charge their attack. If their target dies before the attack is fully charged, then yellow one loses the full charge, yellow two loses half the charge and yellow three loses only 10% of the charge Red two projectiles home in on a target. When the target dies before the projectile hits, the projectile will continue to the last location of the target and detonate there Red three projectiles will chose the closest creep as a new target when their current target dies There are three special towers. You can not buy them with money, but with special bonus points that are dropped by Peachy Piñata creeps. If you do not use the bonus points to buy towers, they increase your interest rate. If you buy a special tower, and sell it again, you get the bonus point back and the interest rate goes back up in the next level -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- II. MonstersThere are 10 creeps in this game, here are them: Yellow Rotor - Use yellow towers to kill them Red Raver - Use red towers to kill them Green Plus - Use green towers to kill them Fast Forward - Go faster than the others, but have a low hp Peachy Piñata - Hard to kill, but gives you 3% interest every kill Hard Grey Box - Its harder to kill than normal Healthy Helix - Recharge hp, it takes 20 seconds to go from near-dead to fully healed Blue Box - Normal Sprinting Salmon - Every hit it will try to escape from you, moving faster than normal Protected Pink - It calculates what was the color that did most damage in the last few seconds, and become almost "vulnerable" to it There are 3 kinds of creep types: Swarm - Many creeps walking together. Use red towers to kill them, is the best choice Normal - Normal Boss - The boss have much more hp than the normal creeps. If you want to the selected tower concentrate his attack on them, click on the tower, and choose the target mode to "Hard" -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- III. MapsThese are the maps so far. If there is more, I will add them to the list The Noid - Single Knot, Zig Zag 1, Zig Zag 2, Spiralln RealSpace - Dirty, Dirty Horde, Claustrophobia, Dark Matter, HighscoreHunters, The Second to Last Ways, HighscoreHunters II, HighscoreHunters III, HighscoreHunters IV, The Unforgiven Part I, The Unforgiven Part II Zodiac1233 - Zig Zag 3, Zig Zag4, Loops, 4 Path, Butterfly, NoName, NoName 2 Fireblade - Draw Line, Tie-Angle Tomas Nilsson - Vendetta Thexsoar - Across the Void, Argyle, Barrage, Boss hog, Circuit, Clover, Comet, Containment, Crossvoid, Cyclone, Dirtier horde, Double edge, Double Hexagram, Double void, Drain, Dual Polarity, Edge, Empire, Fatal Four Way, Fountain, Galaxy, Hard candy, Heartbeat, Helix, Hex assualt, Island hopping, Jack, Jagged, Link, Missile defense, Mjolner, Nazca, Noid, Power plus, Pretzel, Radioactive, Rain, Rebound, Shuriken, Snowflake, Spade, Summation, Sunset, Swirl, Sword, T-bone, Thick and thin, Triangulate, Triple spiral, Triplet, Tulip, Twist, Volcano, Zee Mr. Random - Frogpond The Swedish Tower - The Last Way If you want to see the highscores for all those maps click here If you want to play the game click here -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- IV. Other This content is where I put the information that doesn't fit in the other contents. I will explain the Menu and How to beat the game The Menu of the game is located on the top-left corner of the game screen. There you can: 1. Go to the Main Menu 2. Restart your level 3. Select another level 4. Edit your level 5. Replay your level 6. Choose with or without background 7. High Quality 8. Auto Quality 9. Escape from browser 1. Go to Menu and Main Menu to go to the Main Menu. There you can choose if you want to play HexTD in Single Player or Multiplayer 2. Go to Menu and Restart Level to restart the level you currently are. It will bring you back to level 1, with the initial money and no towers build 3. Go to Menu and Select Level to select another level. This will end your game you are currently on and start a new game in the new level you choosed 4. Go to Menu and Level Editor to edit the information of the map. There you can: Change your initial money, your initial interest, your interest increase, your initial lives, and the background of the level. You can also change the paths. There you can choose where the creeps are going to move toward the end. NOTE: If you edit your level you will NOT be able to submit your score. Here are the key commands: "e" or "p" = Change to pathing tile "b" = Change to normal tile "n" = Change to no tile 5. Go to Menu and Replay Centre to make a replay of everything you have done in the level you are. You can stop the replay and continue going from where you stopped. Is very useful! You can go back some levels in the game to "correct" (Didn't find any word better) your mistakes you did before 6. Go to Menu and Background to put or remove your current background 7. Go to Menu and High Quality to change your game screen quality 8. Go to Menu and Auto Quality to set your game screen quality automatically depending on the layout of the game. If the game runs normally, the quality will be normal, but if the game runs slow, the quality will be automatically set to low 9. Go to Menu and Escape from browser to open a new window of your HexTD game, in Fullscreen! How to beat the game Even tho there are several levels to play, there are various things is common: The creeps, the money, the interest If you want to reach to the last level of the game (And probably beat it), you will need something called interest. Everytime you kill Peachy Piñata, you get 3% interest. In other words, everytime you finish a level it will add the amount of money you have plus the interest. For example, you have 100 of cash when the wave finished, and 50% interest 100 of cash + 50% = 150 of cash It can seem to be useless, but imagine this: 500,000,000 of cash + 50% = 750,000,000 of cash You can do this by heart In the early levels, you can get more money than you get from your interest, but in the second example, you don't get 250,000,000 every level just by killing the creeps. So this is it, if you wanna beat the game + get a great score, just use your money when you need to, never use DamageUp/RangeUp, and don't hack/edit the game -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- V. Credits Credits goes for: Sorry, I got to delete the credits for space... 3 hours! If you want me to add something just post in the comments! I hope it helped! Very cool, nice work!
Some additions: I think an important addition would be that upgrading towers is much, much better then spamming towers. Each upgrade multiplies the damage by another 1.45, so a fully upgraded tower is about 20 times as powerful as a level one tower. The effects of blue one and blue two stack. Yellow towers have to charge their attack. If the creep dies before the attack is fully charged, then yellow one loses the full charge, yellow two loses half the charge and yellow three loses only 10% of the charge. Red two rockets don't pick a new target when their target dies before the rocket hits. Red three rockets do pick a new target. If you buy a special tower, and sell it again, you get the bonus point back. Interest goes back up in the next level. |

Blue Box is just an ordinary blue creep. The effect of blue towers is larger, so they're slowed more and take less damage from yellow. Just like the yellow creep is slowed less by blue towers, and takes more damage from yellow towers.
Protected pink takes the anti-color of the color that did the most damage in the last two second. If no damage was done in the last two seconds, it turns white again. This means red-three works very well against 'em, as red-three shoots only once every 2.5 seconds
