Hmm, another idea would be to do something with the biohazard sign for purple towers and the radiation sign for orange towers

That sounds like a good idea. For cyan towers, we could adapt an image of a shield to fit it in with the futuristic theme of the game.

More tower ideas:

White towers

- Don't deal damage (in other words, it's a modifier tower)
- No modifiers can affect this tower
- Increases damage of all towers in range according to amount of creeps in range
- Limited to three towers
  • White one: all creeps in range add +5% damage to towers, up to 25%
  • White two: all creeps in range add +5% damage to towers, up to 40%
  • White three: all creeps in range add +6% damage to towers, up to 66%
  • ?White four: all creeps in range add +8% damage to towers.


Black towers

- Damages a creep, but damage will increase according to towers in range
  • Black one: all towers in range increases damage by +25%
  • Black two: all towers in range increases damage by +50%
  • Black three: all towers in range increases damage by +75%
  • ?Black four: all towers in range increases damage by +100%

The white and black towers use different ways of increasing damage - both pretty interesting.

Here's another tower suggestion:

Brown towers do not inflict damage themselves, but they inflict extra weaknesses on creeps and increase the damage inflicted by other towers using the creeps' weaknesses. The weakness inflicted on creeps are random, based on which colours inflict "normal" damage on a particular creep.
Brown 1 - One extra weakness, 1.5x damage inflicted by other towers using creep's weakness
Brown 2 - One extra weakness, 2x damage inflicted by other towers using creep's weakness, decreases creep resistance to specific tower colours by 50%
Brown 3 - Two extra weaknesses, weaknesses randomly chosen from existing tower colours, 3x damage inflicted by other towers using creep's weakness, negate creep resistance to specific tower colours

thacannon: Interesting, but I'm not sure what you mean with the "limits" in White Tower. Is it that it increases by the given percentage every shot?
Masamune: Cool, but I think the difference should be more marked between every level. Maybe Brown 3 could have a better randomness, absolutely choosing from existing tower colours. You could also add to a brown some effect that decreases the resistances' or increases weaknesses' effect.

Added some crucial words in the white tower description. =)

More things in the shop, plus a recap:
  • Tower kill count - X
  • Tower pack one [purple, orange] - X
  • Tower pack two [cyan, brown] - X
  • Tower pack one [white, black] - X
  • Different colored hex - X
  • Creep pack - X

I bet I can find more things... but I think I gave The noid quite a scare now.

Hey, here do you mean that all creeps in range add +5%? So having one or having 10 in range the result is the same? Or every creep add a +5% and the maxium that, for example, a white one can handle is +25%? (so only 5 creeps in range will make the effect and the rest no?)

Same thing here. Having 1 tower or 10 towers in range increases the damage by 25%? Does the amount of towers in range makes diference? Or every tower increases the damage by +50%? (which must be not what you meant)

What I actually had in mind concerning black towers is this;

Black towers specialises in attacks that defeat creeps instantly, but have an extremely slow rate of fire
Black 1: Targets and instantly kills one creep, regardless of HP level.
Black 2: Targets and instantly kills creeps within a small splash area, regardless of HP levels.
Black 3: Generates a large black hole that instantly defeats creeps that are drawn into the void. Higher levels may allow Black 3 to generate up to three black holes at the same time

That is a very bad idea. You can then just spam black 3 towers and blue 2 towers.
The blue towers will slow down the creeps and group them together and the black will kill them all. That completely ruins the current balance.

I suppose then that no more than three black towers should be in play at any time. I would say any combination of black towers are allowed as long as no more than three black towers are in play, but only one Black 3 can be in play (if a Black 3 is purchased and put into play, the Black 3 graphic in the Tower purchase window is blanked out, preventing the player from purchasing any more Black 3s).

Note to The Noid: If an acceptable balance can be struck with my version of the black towers which utilise instant kills, by all means put them into the game if you want to when coding the addon packs into the game. If not, use thacannon's version.
