I think the hangs have been fixed in the development version. If anyone still runs into a hang in the development version, please let me know by posting here!

mine continues to hang when i have large numbers of towers affected by a large number of upgrades even more so on huge maps, to the point where i have to close IE to continue to use my PC and it's not like my computer is slow either, but i continue to have problems

Can you post a replay of a game at the point where it becomes unbearably slow? Just go to menu->replay center, click "print" and post the resulting text...
