Well, I don't hold the record, but I still have something to share.

1. Build 1 ground and 1 air tower.

2. Run 4 waves. If failed, start the game again.
3. Sell all towers, unlock poison towers and build one. Set focus to "Unpoisoned".

4. Upgrade poison tower 3 times (after 5th, 7th and 9th waves).

5. Run 6 waves.
6. Unlock ice towers and build one just above the poison tower. Set focus to "Unpoisoned".

7. Upgrade ice tower 5 times (after 17th, 19th, 20th, 22nd and 24th waves).
8. Change focus of ice tower to "Unslowed".
9. Upgrade ice tower 3 more times (after 25th, 27th and 28th waves).

Now you are have a good position to continue

I've played this hundreds of times and that's exactly what I do, there isn't a better way of doing it.

My next steps are...

1. 2nd 62% slow tower directly above the first
2. 3rd non-upgraded slow tower on the second bend, one square up from bottom left
3. 4th 62% slow tower directly to the left the first
4. fire tower directly above 4th slow tower
5. start upgrading the 3rd slow tower

Then fill the first bend with slows and start adding some slows to top of second bend, this nicely catches them as they come off first bend. A few fires and more slows on second bend should get a 200+ game.

The annoying part is sometimes you'll get one that randomly gets through and it's game over.

notes:
don't try slows over 62%, the gold is better spent on another slow tower
a second poison tower is a waste of gold

And there is no need to upgrade even first poison tower more than mentioned - it's better to spend this money on fire towers.

I'm placing first fire tower (FT) directly above yours - I think it covers more than yours.

I'm also trying to do it with only 2 or 3 FTs - new FT with fastest fire rate costs 1150 and makes 25 damage, and 25 upgrades of existing FT costs 1250, so you lose only 100, but keep a much better place for ice tower and also you get 1/2 killing upgrade in average (because there are less kills remainders on towers).
