Defender Tower Defense

Ok, I've spent the last three days trying to beat this game.. And cannot even come close, I've tried all maps.. And even resorted to creating a custom map with a Delayed loop so my towers could fire at the mob, reset, and shoot at them again.. And still could not beat this game without losing more then 3/4 my lives.. Whats the deal.. I've been playing TD's since they hit Warcraft and have had slim to no problems with most on the Net.. Except the hard modes, which unless you juggle from wave 5 are impossible..

Whats the deal.. are there tower combos i should stick with.. Nothing seems to work.. Tried the Slow/Splash combo.. cant get them upgraded enough to make it effective.. The Dexers work well.. but only if you can upgrade them quick enough.. None of the maps provide decent locations to place these towers.. and you have to pay 50gp to make the land "placable" which is REDICULOUS considering towers only cost 25gp..

Unless I've missed something this game is next to impossible to beat..

funny story... i've been trying to beat the game for weeks (not devoting THAT much time into it as you might have) but i still never came close. i only tried 2 maps though. I forget the names and i dont feel like looking but they were the 2 easy ones. I never got passed lv5 on the first one. but i beat all 35 waves on the second one, the one with the grass. but the way that i beat it, is the funny part.

i was very fed up and was gonna try a hacking program to give me infinite lives. but i needed to lose at least 1 life for it to take effect. so i tried a strategy i was almost SURE would fail. i filled every single paved block with a non-upgraded fire mage. once every block was filled, i started upgrading all the ones that had the awesome-looking red aura. (the 4 closest to the entrance i made specialists, the rest generalists [for range and damage]) and i didnt lose any lives. until the first boss came, but then it was only 1 or 2. i beat all 35 waves with 17 lives remaining and i didnt even need the hack. best of all i felt proud of myself for finding out a winning strategy. you can try my strategy, since i JUST discovered it, im going to try it out with different color mages now.

oh, almost forgot, dont use only fire mages, u'll lose. as soon as u have 300 spare gold and no red auras on your mages, create a paved spot inside a loop of your chosing. since i call them loops and u might call them something else, what i mean is like a penninsula-looking thing. where its shapped like a U and you can make mages inside the U's white part and the enemies travel along the black part... make any sense? but make it sorta towards the middle so the necromancer you're gonna place there can reach everything inside the loop. upgrade the necro either special or generalist. i made 2 inside the 2 main loops, the one closer to the entrance a specialist and the other one a generalist

I have beat them all except marathon. On which I got to level 50. Got the last guy down to about 20% health before I lost my last life. SOOOO close!!
