Default Attempt 4

Attempt 1: Didn't know anything, made a lot of towers instead of a few good ones.

Attempt 2: Knew slightly more, got to level ~340 and quit.

Attempt 3: Read the forums a bit, had a good idea of what I wanted to build, but screwed up the build order.

Attempt 4:

I was going to ask Nukes vs. Railguns, but in the other recent thread everyone's yelling Nukes. Also I think I need more Tazers around the opening and the X, and should relocate those nukes down at the bottom to the clear space on the left. Probably relocate all of the Nukes actually, then I can fill that entire first loop with Tazers.

14 Railguns, 13 Combo'd Nukes, 1 Non-Combo'd Nuke (where the random landmines are coming from), and a bunch of Tazers (but not enough).

Suggestions? Should I add a Black Hole near the end for those that slip by? You can see from the HP of those coming around the first loop that the entire system broke down rather than a few guys just slipping through, so I'm not sure how much a Black Hole would help.

How far do you think I could get on just Nukes + Tazers?

Actually, that's a REALLY good run for your fourth attempt.

Some tips that might help:

You can place bigdamage++ on the nukes and it will literally double, triple, X20 the nuking power. It's a nice reason why nukes > railgun.
(mainly for calculations, railguns do 50 mill damage, nukes do 60 mill damage, but multiply that by 20 and sell the railgun.)

To slow down the creeps effectively, use the combo known as "shockwave". It'll slow everything in the blast radius. The electro-blast wave will actually spread out, reaching practically the entire path.

Attempt 5, part 1:

The Nuke/Shockwave Combo worked well... for about 600 waves. I know I could have done a better job with the placement of the Damage++'s and could have gotten a lot more on the left, but that's what the 'figure it out as you go' approach left me with.

The game is still on, I'll probably leave it until tomorrow, but the current strategy isn't working anymore. They were getting really close to A51, so I threw in a black hole, then 3 more, but now I'm not making any cash.

My current idea is to s**** everything for cash and use it all on black holes. The board is almost full so there's no point saving up too much more money. Just wondering if anyone can think of a better plan. Also, how do I know which turrets are stackable with bonuses and which aren't? Is the triple Rate+ above the black holes doing anything, or am I just wasting money on unused turrets?

Is there anywhere that lists out how much it costs to create a black hole? (Total cost including upgrading the towers and whatnot). If I knew that I could see how many black holes I can get if I sell off everything and build them.

A lot of explosions on the screen, the lag is the only thing that allowed me to snag a pic that allows you to see all of the turrets :P

Actually I had forgotten that I put the Fusion down there... I had a bunch of yellows and not enough room to use Combonly's, so I just threw it in.

Rate+ towers only affect single turrets, not combos nor combonlys. Once you're at the point where only black holes can actually kill anything, you have basically lost since you will not be able to make any more kills, and score is kills X money spent. Since you can't spend more money and you can't kill more stuff, you can't raise your score. All that remains is to wait for your browser or computer to crash to see up to what wave you can get, since black holes will eat up all foes that come through them. The one thing black holes are useful for is the endgame, to help you raise your score. What I usually do, is that I'll have a pair (if I can) of black holes right next to A51, and once the monsters no longer die to the nukes, I'll sell all my towers to get more money to spend, build a couple more black holes just to give me more time then build a single cannon tower (not sure of the name, haven't played in a little while, basically the first one) and upgrade it until I can buy freakouts (upgrade rate and damage 3 or 4 times, again not sure) and spend all my money on freakouts. That way you can usually increase the money spent part of the "Kills X Money spent", so that helps the score. Once all the money is spent, start selling black holes and spend the money on freakouts. Obviously, you have to take the screenshot before you sell everything!

ETA: Rate+ towers are extremely effective with Tazers. Try to have most of your tazers covered by 3-4 rate+ towers and you will see a big difference in the stopping power of your tazers. Also, Poison rockets are a good way of making sure everything is slow. Make them into a combonly and have it target the fastest enemy, it acts as an insurance policy. From memory, poison towers are Red+Blue+Green, red firing.

Edited again to add: Shockwave can also be used with lazer chains. Chains are difficult to build properly, but when they are done well they are incredible. For use with a shockwave and nukes you don't need a chain that does trillions of damage and getting one to a couple of hundred millions is not too hard, just remember that the tail-end of the chain is where it's most efficient to put damage+ towers, since the damage of the last tower of the chain gets multiplied by the chain.

Nice work! I think you need a little bit more nukes though. Nice fact: highest "nuke" wave record is about ...eh, high-600's so... you are considered pro now. XD

Actually, you're somewhat wasting money the moment you build them. Here's why:

Blackholes do unlimited damage

The catch?
No cash, No score, No kills
(yes, no kills... the creeps aren't destroyed, just banished into the blahness of the blackhole :P)

Is there anywhere that lists out how much it costs to create a black hole? (Total cost including upgrading the towers and whatnot). Not that I know of If I knew that I could see how many black holes I can get if I sell off everything and build them. Well, you only need a max of eight to block the path... for an eternity

*snip*

Actually I had forgotten that I put the Fusion down there... I had a bunch of yellows and not enough room to use Combonly's, so I just threw it in. Hey, you know that you could press "M" to move ANY turret you want elsewhere... for $500 right? So technically, you can almost fill the entire board with combonlys.
An I-Grok style reply.
Now start reading!

That probably depressed me way more than it should.

@Syrik: Sorry, didn't mean to make you depressed. I hope the info I gave at the end of my post can be useful to help you get further, Onslaught is an incredibly deep game. Chains can do incredible amounts of damage, but they can be extremely frustrating to build.
