Hello!

The game is still in development, so some bugs are to be expected.

Hey, how do you build a gem? I click in one then click on the screen and nothing happens. In the console, it just shows the X and Y coordinates, as if I was clicking normally, without any tower selected

You just click on one of the gems, and then somewhere on the screen to place it. After you selected the gem, you should see it's statistics on the top right side, and when you are going to place it, you should see the gem and it's range circle showing the area covered by it.
And it is not possible to build on the grey area.

I tried it with Chrome and MS Explorer and it works for me.

You work with java, too? I tried Eclipse after years of Visual C and Java is much more comfortable, sophisticated, and development is much faster with it. This game took just a few weeks and I did it in part-time after real work

Yep, I build HexTD (http://sourceforge.net/projects/hextd) with java. I use the Netbeans IDE.

it's looking good.. but why remake gemtd? the orignal has a better interface (imho). wish the effort was being put towards some sort of new game.

Gem TD is one of my favorite games, that is the first reason . Other than that, it has a lot of potential: even with the bugs and imbalanced gameplay (above level 40) it is one of the best TDs out with more than 1.000.000 only on towerdefence.net. I believe that is because the gameplay system is so very good. If I will do it without the bugs and add some extra features, it will be a nice game.

I plan to add different scenarios, unlockable special gem rewards, some animations, sound effects and music.

You could also look for or submit some ideas in the Gem TD(2) forum . I was to add something...

I like that the game has shrunk, but there is some resetting issues for when you press start new game. It does not reset the cost of life and upgrades.

I really like it, and am looking forward to the next versions.

Funny how each round is different, because the enemies are so random.

Maybe the reward for killing a boss should be higher, as it is much smaller then the reward for a standard level right now.
